Little Riders Big Adventures

A few weeks ago, we hosted our first Little Riders, Big Adventures event—and we’re thrilled to say it sold out!
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Bamford, the day brought together like-minded families for a joyful celebration of cycling with kids. Whether seasoned riders or just starting out, everyone came with an adventurous spirit. Our basecamp at Bamford Rec buzzed with energy as families set off on a relaxed (if not incredibly soggy) one-hour ride—featuring trailers, cargo bikes, toddlers on balance bikes, and kids riding solo.
After the ride, we gathered for a thoughtful and inspiring panel discussion with three incredible women—Hetty Kingston, Flora Hodson, Kelly Collinge and hosted by yours truly—sharing their stories of embracing bike adventures with their children. Their honesty, humour, and insight left many of us nodding, laughing, and feeling genuinely inspired.
We couldn’t have made the day happen without funding support from Komoot, which helped keep ticket prices accessible for families. And the much-needed coffee from Kickback Coffee was gratefully received by our (rather soggy!) parents.
What made this event especially meaningful for us is that it came after a false start—we had originally planned to run it in Manchester late last year but had to postpone due to low ticket sales. Rather than giving up, we took the opportunity to rethink and relocate. Moving it outdoors, into the Peak District, and to a family-friendly Sunday slot turned out to be just what was needed.
We had a fantastic time and would absolutely love to put on something similar again—maybe next time somewhere with guaranteed sunshine?
P.S. Huge thanks to Luke & Dan for capturing the magic of the day in photos
