Bird’s Fifth Birthday
Bird’s Fifth Birthday
To celebrate our community turning 5 years old (we can’t believe it either?!) we’re planning a big birthday camp out on Saturday 26 September.
Join us in Disley to get out on an adventure, camp out, and eat dinner together under the stars (a big marquee if its raining)… We’ll provide the routes, you pick the activity and the distance, we’ll see you for dinner under the stars ✨
What we’ll be doing _
Cycle_ heading off on the Peak Forest Canal, we have a lovely mixed terrain cycle route for you that starts and ends at the campsite
Walk_ taking in Lyme Park and the Peak Forest Canal, some of you might recognise this route form a previous social walk
Run_ canals and down to the New Mills Torrs, you’ll see the Millennium Walkway and River Goyt.
The Venue_ Disley Meadows has views of the Goyt Valley and 4 alpacas, think simple, no fuss, quiet camping.
What to bring _
You bring your tent and activity gear and we will bring the gazebo, camp fire, hot chocolate and more.
You’ll need your food for Saturday day and snacks, then bring a dish to share and we can have a picnic dinner under the stars.
If you want to join us but don’t have the kit you might need to camp overnight, please drop us a message to discuss options.
You can arrive from 10am to set up camp, and then set off on your chosen activity adventure.
We are thinking a no rush kinda vibe, so book your ticket and then plan your activity. As long as everyone is back for 4pm-ish for birthday party activities, snacks and surprises.
Please note - Disley Meadows has one toilet, and one shower. There’s also no running drinking water, only water for showers and washing up. So bring as much as you can, we will also bring water.
We said simple!
